Naast het achterlijke broertje van Youtube: Godtube is ook de wikipediafamilie uitgebreid met een religieus gehandicapped zusje: Conservapedia. Het is echt een superwalgelijke site en ik zou Theoloog en Rereformed willen adviseren om met mate op de site rond te neuzen. Ik had na een uurtje al weer neigingen om kerken te brandschatten.

Ja, het is alleen jammer, maar wel tekenend , dat je niet even hebt gekeken naar de pretenties van beide websites.

Duidelijk. Ze zeggen niet dat ze neutraal zijn, of dat ze een encyclopedie zijn. Ze zeggen helder waar ze voor staan. Je weet wat je aan ze hebt.

Conservapedia wil echter een tegenhanger zijn van het - in hun ogen te liberale en seculiere - Wikipedia. Het icoon zegt: "Conservapedia: the trustworthy encyclopedia", waarbij het een veronderstelde 'ander' (goh wie zou dat nou zijn?) wegzet als onbetrouwbaar.

Conservapedia is een website opgezet door christelijk-rechtse Amerikanen. Men mag alleen feitelijk juiste informatie geven, geen meningen, zegt de website, - behalve als het om Jezus gaat: "When referencing dates based on the approximate birth of Jesus, give appropriate credit for the basis of the date (B.C. or A.D.). "BCE" and "CE" are unacceptable substitutes because they deny the historical basis. See CE."

Tsja, om die reden spreek ik in de regel over "voor de gewone jaartelling" vs. "na de gewone jaartelling". Vermijd je meteen het exclusieve Christelijke in de jaartelling.

Hoe kom je daar nou bij ? Ik snap best wel dat ze partijdig en fundamentalistisch zijn.
Ooit wees ik op freethinker al op het grote aantal hits met zoekwoorden als
'anti science', 'anti-science' , 'antiscience' bij google.com in vergelijking met google.nl

Net zoals Fox News de conservatieve (betwowbare onpartijdige) tegenhanger is van het 'liberale' CNN, is Conservapedia de conservatieve tegenhanger van het 'liberale' Wikipedia, yea right.

Op dit soort momenten vraag ik me toch af wat kaffer van zo'n conservapedia zou hebben gevonden aangezien ze een wikipedia fobie had.

Niet veel slechter dan "rational" wiki die direct spreekt over "revealed religions" en whoe ha ha als "rationals" spreken over "prophets" en "self proclaimed prophets".
