Een song over een schaakpartij! (en nog fijne muziek ook)

Emmylou Harris is voor mij altijd een mooie verschijning geweest (dat bedoel ik niet oneerbiedig) en nog. En wat mij betreft ook een goede artiest.

Met het klimmen der jaren werd zij steeds mooier. Er zijn van die vrouwen die dat hebben. Jane Goodal, Sofia Loren, en mijn eigen Mimi, waar ik elke dag met bewondering naar mag kijken.
En als je dan ook nog zo'n mooie poëtische ballade van Leonard Cohen kan zingen...Wat valt er dan nog te wensen?

Prachtig! EmmyLou Harris zingt fantastisch en ze is mooi! Of ze nu Cohen of Dylan zingt; het klopt gewoon.

Wel helemaal afkijken, dit einde is kostelijk.

Jerry Goldsmith - The Mutant (From "Total Recall" OST)

Nice! Geweldige film.
Jammer genoeg werd Goldsmith nogal ondergewaardeerd voor zijn prachtige soundtracks bij deze film.

Goed, als we dan toch bezig zijn, dan deze ook nog maar (voor mij de op één na meest gewaardeerde soundtrack op die door mij als eerste geplaatste na) :

Is dat het gedeelte waar Quaid die reactor activeert?

Ja, maar dit gedeelte van "End of a Dream" wordt niet in de film zelf afgespeeld. De muziek van de soundtrack stopt precies daarvóór en daarna wordt de reactor gestart. De rest van "End of a Dream" hoor je daarna in de film niet.

Hoe vat je gevoelens samen in woorden ..... en je smaak .....

Ik zal een poging doen :

Het is een dramatisch stuk dat er wat mij betreft enigszins uitspringt ten opzichte van de rest. Het heeft iets heroïsch, iets van een doorbraak, van bevrijdend succes voor degenen die zo lang moesten lijden na een lange tragiek en met een gevoel van mededogen, tegelijkertijd troostend.
