"Die-hard atheists generally don't describe positive feelings to religious celebration and festivity. Sometimes though there are those precious pearls that origin from religious tradition and in the light of our modern day give birth to something beautiful.
Holi, originaly, a special rite performed by married women for the happiness and well-being of their families whilest worshipping the full moon, in modern day has transformed into the celebration of the passage from winter to spring and in Hindu religion, the victory of good over evil.
Holi is also called the festival of colour because of Gulal, a coloured powder, which is thrown in the air and is used to paint eachother. The modern interpretation returns to the roots of human emotion, our nature, where differences between origin, religion and casts are litteraly no longer visible. Social boundaries between classes, young and old, rich or poor, fall away.
This one day all people are equal. Cultural wealth, joy, mutual respect and tolerance make the Holifest a memorable experience."
Ik werd helemaal warm van binnen bij het zien van alle mooie kleurtjes, de foto's, muziek en blijheid
