Ga er toch een paar van Orwell geven. Blijft de vraag welke hij zelf achter staat en welke komen van zijn (verdorven) personages :D
Lees 1984 maar eens, maakt alles heel duidelijk.
“You are a slow learner, Winston."
"How can I help it? How can I help but see what is in front of my eyes? Two and two are four."
"Sometimes, Winston. Sometimes they are five. Sometimes they are three. Sometimes they are all of them at once. You must try harder. It is not easy to become sane.”
“Perhaps a lunatic was simply a minority of one.”
As with the Christian religion, the worst advertisement for socialism is its adherents.
“In a time of deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”
“War is peace.
Freedom is slavery.
Ignorance is strength.”
“All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”
“The best books... are those that tell you what you know already.”
“The most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history.”
“If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face—for ever.”
“If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.”
“Until they became conscious they will never rebel, and until after they have rebelled they cannot become conscious.”

“People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.”
“Power is in tearing human minds to pieces and putting them together again in new shapes of your own choosing.”
“Now I will tell you the answer to my question. It is this. The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power, pure power. What pure power means you will understand presently. We are different from the oligarchies of the past in that we know what we are doing. All the others, even those who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites. The German Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just around the corner there lay a paradise where human beings would be free and equal. We are not like that. We know what no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. Now you begin to understand me.”
“I enjoy talking to you. Your mind appeals to me. It resembles my own mind except that you happen to be insane.”
“Journalism is printing what someone else does not want printed: everything else is public relations.”
"Anti-intellectualisme has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge" - Isaac Asimov

Mr. Clemens was once asked whether he feared death. He said that he did not, in view of the fact that he had been dead for billions and billions of years before he was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it.
Samuel Clemens "Mark Twain",American author and humorist (1835-1910)

There are two classes of men:
intelligent men without religion,
and religious men without intelligence.

Abu Ala Al-Ma'arri,Arab philosopher 973 - 1057 AD

The word god is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honourable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. No interpretation no matter how subtle can (for me) change this.
Albert Einstein

Er zijn drie soorten musici:
- Musici met absoluut gehoor
- Musici met geen absoluut gehoor
- Musici met absoluut geen gehoor
Vraag niet hoe het kan, maar profiteer ervan.
