De Atheist Census. Het zat er aan te komen, en nu is het er.
Het is een Canadees initiatief om het aantal atheïsten in de wereld te tellen.
Waarschijnlijk niet al te betrouwbaar (als je meer dan 1 e-mailadres hebt kun je meerdere keren deelnemen), maar toch wel leuk.

Perfect, dan weten ze meteen alle atheïsten te vinden.
Waarom zoeken als men bereid is zichzelf aan te geven?

This project has come to an end
We have had some technical issues with our database and are not able to continue funding development. Unfortunately, this project has come to an end.
We appreciate the support from all participants and 90 individuals who contributed a total of $751.41. We will be directing 100% of these funds to Atheist Alliance International, and encourage all of you to support their efforts here – Atheist Alliance International

Er was een tijd geleden in de VS een priester (van een door hemzelf opgerichte internetkerk) die zelfs zelf een registratie wilde invoeren, zoiets als een pedofielen database (dat was zijn vergelijking).
Maar dan nog zou ik er aan hebben meegedaan, want ik denk niet dat die man veel steun van de autoriteiten zou hebben gekregen (wat mede verklaart waarom we nu niets meer van hem horen).

Blijkbaar is het niet erg bekend hier in Nederland. Ik heb mij aangemeld, waarmee ik de 18e Nederlander zal worden die daar in zal staan.

Ik was de 11de. Het is wel apart dat Brazilie van ong 400 naar ong 1000 in minder dan een dag ging (vandaag).
Ik vrees dat iemand heeft zitten trollen. Dat, of iemand heeft veel vrienden gevraagd.

Dat was dus maar kort:
theist Census is offline as the result of a denial of service (DoS) attack.
We don't know who is behind the attack but it seems to be a reasonable conclusion that they do not like atheists being counted.
We will provide an update as soon as possible.

Wat is nieuw, dit bestaat al zolang als er religies zijn. Ze laten zich wel heel erg kennen op die manier.
Ik vraag me ook af wat ze hier nu mee denken te bereiken.

Nederland loopt aardig achter, maarja het wordt ook niet echt gepromoot.

Fijn dat het weer werkt. De VS heeft nu de eerste plaats overgenomen en Nederland staat ondertussen op de 78 aanmeldingen.
